Marcelo “Celo” Espiritu of Puhi died at Queen’s Medical Center on April 30, 2001, at the age of 71.
Born in Puhi, Kaua’i on July 28, 1929, he was a retired welder with McBryde Sugar Co.
He is survived by: his wife: Connie Espiritu of Puhi, Kaua’i; two sons: Mark Espiritu of Puhi and Kenneth Espiritu of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters: Yolanda (Peter Lopez) Espiritu of Puhi, Melanie (Gary) Bacio of Koloa, Kaua’i and Lisa (Jonathan) Tamashiro of Kapahi, Kaua’i; eight grand-children; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Antonio (Kiyoko) Espiritu of Orosi, Calif., Ernest Espiritu of San Jose, Calif., and Benjamin Espiritu of Cupertino, Calif.; sister: Emilia Floresca of San Jose, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 7, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; with service to begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Antonio Maglinti
Antonio “Sabu” “Tony” Maglinti, 70 of Honolulu, died April 25, 2001 in Honolulu.
Born in Honolulu and both a long time resident of Kapa’a, Kaua’i and Hilo, Hawai’i. He was a straddler driver at Matson Navigation Co. and a stevedore for 52 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rosario “Rose” Patigayon Maglinti; son: Glenn Gilbert (Alberta); daughters: Antonette (Glen) Pau and Linda (Lawrence) Texeira all of Honolulu; brothers: Alexander and Johnnie Maglinti of Kapa’a, Kaua’i and Vincente Maglinti of Honolulu; sisters: Gloria Santos of Kaua’i, Agnes Hoyohoy of Honolulu, Ligaya Saflor and Lourdes Alesna of Kaua’i and Incarnation “Inky” Ortiz of Honolulu; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary on O’ahu, services at 7 p.m. Friends may call again on Wednesday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with service at noon at the mortuary. Burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Hawai’i State Veterans Cemetery.
