Frank Kaneshiro
Frank Kaneshiro of Kapaa passed away on October 5, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. He was born on August 14, 1923 in Waipouli, Kauai, he was a Retired Grader Operator with the County of Kauai.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Toshiko Kaneshiro; son Van Kaneshiro of Kapaa; daughters, Ruth (Dean) Fochios of Wisconsin and Jill (Leroy) Lagmay of Kapaa; brother, Soichi (Jackie) Kaneshiro of Kapaa; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday October 14th 2013 at Kapaa Jodo Mission at 3:00 pm. Service will begin at 4:00 pm. The family requests casual attire.

Violet Hee
Violet Charlotte Lee Hee, of Lihue passed away at her home on Oct. 4, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born on Oahu on March 25, 1916. She retired from a long career in education having taught at Hanamaulu School and Waimea High School, then serving as an educational officer at the Department of Education’s District Office in Lihue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hong Min Hee; brothers, Dr. Alexander (Vivian) Lee and Henry (Clara) Lee and grandson, Rick L. Demaris.
She is survived by her three sons, Stephen M. (Arlene) Hee of Brush Prairie, WA; Bob A. Hee of Waimea, Kauai and Randall J. (Nancy) Hee of Kekaha, Kauai; three grandchildren, Malia (Brian Flannery) Hee of Corvallis, OR; Noelani (Jeffery) Schille of Vancouver, WA and Puanani Hee of Kekaha, Kauai; sister, Mabel Cornwell of Honolulu, Oahu; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue with visitation from 8 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Aloha attire.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family suggests donations be made to Catholic Charities Hawaii, Kauai Community College (UHF Kauai CC) or Delta Kappa Gamma Eta Chapter. Please memo donations “In Memory of Violet Hee”.
Thomas Kawaguchi
Thomas T. Kawaguchi of Eleele passed away on September 25, 2013 at home at the age of 71. He was born on August 29, 1942. He was a carpenter with Hawaii Carpenters Union.
He is survived by his siblings, Earl (Linda) Kawaguchi of Honolulu; Sharon (Wayne) Uyehara of Honolulu; Warren (Joann) Kawaguchi of Eleele; and Bert Kawaguchi of Honolulu; niece, Aleha (Phillip) Bartholomew and nephew, Bryson (Becky) Kawawguchi.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery’s Committal Shelter. Memorial Service will start at 9:30 am. Casual attire is suggested.

Lenore Lorelie Sanders of Kauai passed away on July 21, 2013 at the age of 88. Born on December 21, 1924 on Oahu, she was a singer & housewife.

Petronila Hilario Agustin of Hanamaulu passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on October 5, 2013, at the age of 92. She was born in Mayantoc, Tarlac, Philippines on March 5, 1921, and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Crisanto Agustin Sr.; son, Crisanto Agustin Jr.; three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by one son, Rodolfo (Luz) Agustin of Puhi; five daughters, Remedios (Paul) Arellano of Koloa; Perla (Adolfo) Yago of Hanamaulu; Estela (Ferdinand) Caoagas of Wailua; Evelyn (Bill) Villasin of San Diego; Leticia (Lee) Dooney of San Diego; daughter-in-law; Alanna Agustin of Hanamaulu; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Maria Garcia
Maria Cera Garcia of Hanamaulu, Kauai passed away on October 3, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. She was born on July 8, 1933 in the Philippines. She was a retired Dishwasher at Ho’s Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jaime Garcia; daughter, Norma Montero; grandson, Eddie Camarillo, Jr.
She is survived by her two sons; Narceso (Marieta) Garcia; Edwin (Edna) Garcia; 5) Daughters, Nelie (Eddie) Camarillo, Sr.; Nelda Fernandez; Lourdes Garcia; Mely (Edwin) Pascua; Caridad Garcia; 16 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday October 14, 2013 at Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Again on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:00 am where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Nellie Hiyane
Nelli Sakae Takano Hiyane of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on September 28, 2013 at Honolulu at the age of 94. She was born on January 16, 1919 of Hawaii, HI. She was a retired Public Health Nurse.
She is survived by her husband, George Hiyane; daughters, Lani (Akio) Nakazawa; Kathi (Robert) Hiyane-Brown; brother, Thomas Takano; sister, Sumiko Wilson; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Kapaa. Casual attire and no flowers.

Hugh Rutan
Hugh Allen Rutan of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on September 25, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 59. He was born on February 17, 1954 in Akron Ohio. He was an owner and operator with Rutan Refrigeration, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Rene Rutan; brother, William (Carla) Rutan of Ventura, California; nieces, Jennifer Jorgensen and Brianna Rutan; cousin, Susan McEwen of Peoria, Arizona; grand-niece, Chloe Jorgensen.
