Glenn Shimazu
Glenn Shimazu passed away on March 9, 2021, at the age of 73. He was born on May 29, 1947 in Hanapepe. He retired as a mechanic for the state of Hawai‘i.
He was preceded in death by father Motoa Shimazu and stepfather Kaoru Taogoshi.
He is survived by son James Shimazu of Kapahi, daughter Suanne Shimazu of Wailua, one grandchild, mother Alice Taogoshi, brother Russell (Lisa) Shimazu of Lihu‘e, sister Georgiana (Randall) Matsumoto of O‘ahu, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are at the Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and masks are required.

Richard T. Oshiro
Richard T. Oshiro, 83 of Kapa‘a, was born July 16, 1937, in Hawai‘i, and passed away May 31, 2021, on Kaua‘i. He retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by parents Seichi and Yoshiko Oshiro and brothers Steven Oshiro and Stanley Oshiro.
He is survived by sons Richard (Wanda) Oshiro and Kurt (Sandy) Oshiro of Kapa‘a, daughter Debra Oshiro of O‘ahu, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brothers Wayne Oshiro and Ronald Oshiro, sisters Susan Kanemoto and Kathleen Mew, all of O‘ahu, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Saturday, July 3, with a celebration of life at 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Hazel A. Sugibayashi
Hazel A. Sugibayashi passed away on June 5, 2021, at age of 89, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Nov. 9, 1931 in Numila, and was a retail clerk.
She was preceded in death by husband Isao Sugibayashi, parents James and Margaret Kurayuki and sister Edith Kurayuki.
She is survived by sons Ross (Irene) Sugibayashi of O‘ahu and Lee Sugibayashi of Lihu‘e, daughter Rona (Victor Sasaki) Miura of Lihu‘e, one grandchild, sisters Patricia Oyama and Janet (Allan) Yamaguchi of O‘ahu, and numerous uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family service was held. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).

Paula Jo Deibel
Paula Jo Deibel passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 64, in Kekaha. She was born on Dec. 15, 1956, in Baltimore. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Michael Deibel and parents Paul Joseph Robertson and Myrna Joyce Erat.
She is survived by brothers James Schuncke of Denver and Martin Schuncke II of Baltimore, sister Roxanne Schuncke, and numerous nieces.
Services will be scheduled for a later date.
