Are you ready to “boldly go where no man has gone before?”
“Star Trek” is one of the longest-running science fiction franchises in history and Sept. 8 marked its 50th anniversary. It has inspired countless inventors, scientists, engineers, astronauts, filmmakers, writers, and many others to achieve great things that were once only ideas. The original show spurred six spin-off television series, thirteen movies, and a host of merchandising products, including comics and books, and its many concepts have become part of our cultural lexicon.
Are you ready to discover (or re-discover) this iconic series?
With 50 years of back story, we have the perfect book for you by DK publishers. “The Star Trek Book: Strange New Worlds Boldly Explained” is a fun and informative guide to the abundance of the “Star Trek” world and its history.
For those who have heard of “phaser” or “warp drive” but don’t have any clue about what it really is (and don’t want to be bogged down with “technobabble” which us Star Trek geeks do love!), it is chock-full of great explanations and illustrations.
The book covers the subjects such as the geography, history, and various timelines of the series, including maps, graphs, and high-quality vibrant-color images. These pages also covers what Starfleet is and its many starships, the Federation and its allies and enemies, the science and technology, the “new life and new civilizations” we meet in the series, plus providing a glossary and episode/movie guide.
Every series is covered and are presented in the order of “Star Trek’s” own chronology.
For Trekkers and Trekkies, or science-fiction fans, you’ll find it to be the perfect addition to your other collectibles on your shelf!
Until next week, “Live long and prosper!”
