KAPA‘A — Kapa‘a High School pitcher Bob Maintain threw a five-hitter over six innings to lead the Warriors to a 6-3 win over Kaua‘i High School on Wednesday in a Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation baseball game at Ron Martin Field at Kapa‘a High School.

Based on information posted by ScoringLive.com, Manintin gave up three unearned runs on his five hits while striking out three Red Raiders hitters and walking just a single Kaua‘i batter. He was relieved in the seventh frame by Kimo Kupihea, who threw a scoreless frame to preserve the Warrior win.
This was Manintin’s second straight Warrior win after throwing a six-hitter against Waimea last week in Kapa‘a’s 5-1 win at Ron Martin Field.
The Warriors broke the ice with three runs in the second frame, added another run in the third, and closed with two runs in the fifth inning in answer three runs scored in the top fifth by the Raiders.
Kimo Kupihea had the top bat for the Warriors, going two-for-two, scoring once and driving in a run. Apo Kuhaulua, Mana Chong and Kamekona Thompson also made contact with Raider pitches.
The Raiders top bat belonged to Dalton John Bukoski, who scored once on two hits. Radon Sebastian had one RBI hit.
Kaua‘i, who came up with three runs in the fifth inning to answer a 4-1 deficit, was credited with four runs on five hits by its starting pitcher in 2 1/3 innings. Reliever Cyrus Fujimoto came in to close for the Raiders allowing no earned runs and getting two strikeouts.
The Raiders also posted wins of 4-1 and 10-1 against Waimea in a Saturday doubleheader at Cook Field in Waimea.
The loss is the Raiders second of the season, the first in the KIF second round with a pair of home games at Vidinha Stadium looming. On May 1, the Raiders host Waimea in a 6 p.m. start, followed by hosting the Warriors in a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m. on May 4.
