Courtney Wood is here helping the Salvation Army and is thrilled to have her mom, Kristin Bakker of Seattle, here visiting to spend Christmas. Kudos to Cadet Sherry Hooper on a great job organizing the family distribution so well that Lt. Elizabeth Gross could attend the Rotary Club of Kauai meeting.
Josie Pablo had pneumonia and couldn’t run in this year’s Honolulu Marathon. But she recovered in time for the Mahelona Hospital family Christmas where Juni Yadao made a special opihi necklace for Elaine Morita. Actually, all the Kilauea Social Club people (Rodney Yadao had a “Pride of Moloaa” pineapple!) had Juni pieces.
Toys for Tots is in the midst of its final push before Christmas, and kudos to Angel Kaohelaulii of the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club for getting their first Toys for Tots tree program set up. She meets with Norberto Garcia Monday (hopefully Christina Gabriel is back to work) to make this year’s presentation.
Kudos to Donna Rivera and the Waiohai Housekeeping Department on their great effort at putting together Christmas for the Prison Ministries, the state’s Department of Human Services, and the state’s Department of Health!
OK, go check out Gerald Ako and the HGEA who have kadomatsu on sale for New Year’s.
