Roy Murata
Roy Tadashi Murata of Kapaa died in Wilcox Memorial Hospital May 23, 2014, at the age of 79. He was born in Kapaa on April 14, 1935, a veteran of the United State Army, he retired as a carpenter.
Preceded in death by his wife, Michiyo.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Merna) Murata of Hanapepe, Casey (Candice) Murata of Oahu; one daughter, Alison (Pedro) Manibusan of Texas; 4 grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Yamaguchi, Betty (Tatsumi) Tanaka, Amy Murata, June (Ernest) Kimura all of Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Kapaa United Church of Christ with visitation from 5:00 p.m. and services celebrated at 5:30 p.m.
The family suggests aloha attire and graciously declines flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Murata family with arrangements.
Dan Barber
Dan Barber age 54 of Evening Shade formerly of Hawaii passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home. Born on December 15, 1959 at Santa Fe, New Mexico He was home contractor and was formerly a soccer referee.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Dale and Dee Seton Barber.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Barber; one son Gregory Barber of Barre, Vermont; one daughter, Jasmine Ramirez of Las Cruces, New Mexico; two brothers, Dale Jernberg of Burrton, Kansas and Mike Barber of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, Julie Seton of Las Cruces, New Mexico; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. No visitation is planned.

Laurencia Ancheta Tolentino of Anchorage Alaska formerly of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii Passed away on May 17, 2014 at the age of 87. Born on September 8, 1926 in Aiea, Oahu, she was a housewife.
Preceded in death by her husband, Mamerto Tolentino; son, Cardenio Tolentino.
She is survived by her sons, Dominador (Medina) Tolentino, Narciso (Leonida) Tolentino, Mamerto (Rogelia) Tolentino, Jr., Danilo Tolentino, Juanito (Cathy) Tolentino; daughters, Luzonia (Isidro) Bernardo, Rosenda (Dominador) Tumamao, Remy (Michael) Inouye, Virginia (Carlos) Bernardo, Erlinda (Resti) Bernardo, Francesca (John Paul) Taylor, 36 grandchildren 76 great grandchildren 7 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 30, 2014 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary. Visitation and Services at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m.
