Raymond “Ray” Kakuo Yoshida of Honolulu died Jan. 10, 2009, at age 78. Born in Kapa‘a, he was a retired fine arts professor for the Art Institute of Chicago and artist.
He is survived by sisters Kay Yoshimatsu, Elnora Wakatake, Beatrice Nose, Takeko Yamane, Ellen Goto and Jean Morioka; and 20 nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery, 4331 Lele Road in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Flowers should be omitted.
Hosoi Garden Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Stanley Hill
Stanley M. Hill of Kilauea died Jan. 13, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 66. Born in California, he was a supervisor for Child Protective Services, State of Hawai‘i.
He is survived by wife Terry Hill, son Nick Hill, daughter Danielle Hill and brother Alan (Carol) Hill.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at ‘Anini Beach.
