Morris Shinsato
Morris Seiki Shinsato of Lihu‘e died Jan. 7, 2008, at his residence at age 87. Born July 3, 1921, in Wahiawa, O‘ahu, he was a retired county attorney with Kaua‘i County.
He is survived by wife Francine Shinsato of Lihu‘e; sons Ken Shinsato of Lihu‘e and Ross Shinsato of Honolulu; daughters Ann Shinsato of Honolulu, Shelley (Glen) Konishi of Lihu‘e and Ginger Shinsato of Lihu‘e; three grandchildren; sister Kikue Tanoura; and numerous nieces and nephews
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Shoichi Tsubakihara
Shoichi Tsubakihara of ‘Oma‘o died Jan. 13, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 79. Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Lawa‘i, he was a retired aero space engineer with Hughes Aircraft Co.
He is survived by wife Evelyn Tsubakihara; son Ryan Tsubakihara of ‘Oma‘o; daughters Shari (Gerald) Allen and Lisa (Glenn) Mahelona, both of Lakewood, Calif.; four grandchildren; brother Larry Tsubakihara; and sister Fay (Matt) Iuli of Virginia.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion; service begins at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
