The win keeps Afterburners in the lead following four weeks of play in the Kaua‘i Mens Soccer Association league.
Earlier in the evening, Canefire took a win by forfeit over Hanalei, and according to Canefire team managers Brad Seymour and Colby Ayonon, a “friendly” game was played by mixing players from both teams.
Curtis Kimura and Artie Elington netted the insurance goals for the Afterburners with Eddie Adams scoring the lone goal for Kryptonite.
Games continue tonight starting at 6 p.m. when the Afterburners take on Hanalei followed by Canefire taking on Kryptonite starting at 8 p.m.
