The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team continues Western Athletic Conference play today, hosting San Jose State for a three-game series till Sunday at the Les Murakami Stadium.
The series will conclude a 21-game homestead for Hawai‘i, dating back to Feb. 23.
Ian Harrington (4-4, 3.40 ERA) is scheduled to start in tonight’s game. Koloa’s Mark Rodrigues (6-1, 2.63 ERA) is expected to start tomorrow.
Josh Schneider (2-1, 2.27 ERA) is expected to close it up.
Although it is still early in the season, the Rainbow pitching staff has shown to be one of the better staffs in the country, statistically, allowing just 3.2 runs per game, ranking 7th in the country.
Their 2.72 team ERA leads the conference by almost two runs, also leading in hits allowed, runs allowed and walks allowed.
The success, in large part, comes thanks to a great three-man rotation of Harrington, Rodrigues and Schneider.
They combined to log 152.0 of the 265.0 innings pitched by the staff, holding a combined ERA of 2.78.
KFVE the home team (Channel 5) will broadcast all the games live this weekend.
