The Kaua‘i Junior Golf Association’s Mokihana Cup golf tournament was held this past weekend at the Kaua‘i Lagoon’s Mokihana Golf Course. The tournament marks the opening of local tournament play for members of the KJGA.
In Saturday’s 12 and Under tournament, La‘akea Warren (84) took first place in the Championship Division over Dusty Psaila (89), followed by Dylan Balisacan (90) and Reyn Morioka (97).
Braeden Robley (91) came out on top in the A Flight Division, over Kai Adachi (96), followed by Kaiton Sawada (96 ) and Daniel Miller II (103).
Trevor Virga (53) wont the 9-Holes A Flight Division over Karin Cooper (55), Douglas Sears (63 and Kelli Jim (72).
Michael Miller (59) took the 9-Holes B Flight Division over Lisa Namatame (82) and Lina Namatame (89).
In Sunday’s matches, Wiley Yoshioka (77) won the 15 to 18 Boys Championship Division over Levi Miyashiro (77) in a 2-hole sudden death playoff followed by Cory Orride (78) and Travis Toguchi.
Sean Mamaclay (85) wont the 13 to 14 Boys Championship Division followed by Weston Moniz (87), Justin Uegawa (96) and Darren Valencia (99).
As the only pair, Malia Saiki (81) took the Girls Championship Division over Kelli Orride.
The Mokihana Club offers local tournament play for returning and tournament play ready juniors.
