Kaua‘i High School remained undefeated in KIF softball after defeating Waimea High School, 10-6 in the first game and 8-5 in the second contest of a Saturday doubleheader at Waimea Canyon Park yesterday.
“The games were close and these two teams should contend for the title this year,” Waimea’s Mike Koerte said.
The scores of both matches wasn’t a good indication of how close the two teams really are.
The Red Raiders are now 3-0 and sit in first-place in KIF softball.
Meanwhile, Kapa‘a is 0-1 and Waimea is 0-2 after yesterday’s losses to the Red Raiders.
“It was a beautiful day for softball in Waimea,” Koerte said.
Kapa‘a and Waimea battle it out on Wednesday at Kapa‘a Ballpark with the game starting at 5:30 p.m.
Both teams are looking for that elusive first win of the season.
The Red Raiders play next Saturday at Kapa‘a Ballpark in a doubleheader against the Warriors.
The first contest starts at 10 a.m.
Kaua‘i and Waimea meet again, but this time at Isenberg Park on Wednesday, December 22.
The contest starts at 5:30 p.m.
