Martha W. Kapuniai
Martha W. Kapuniai of Waimea died May 14, 2004 at Kauai Care Center at the age of 78.
Born May 18, 1925, on O‘ahu, she was a pineapple cannery employee and planter for a sugar plantation.
She is survived by two daughters: Shirley Ann (Owen) Kauahi and Yvonne Woaala Pascua; one son: Lawrence Kalani (Rhonda) Kapuniai, Jr. and two siblings: Judy Kama and Noah Kekahuna; numerous nieces, and nephews; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, May 22, at St. Joseph’s Church in Kaumakani with Memorial Mass celebrated at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Katherine Juanita Rivera
Katherine Juanita Rivera of Anahola died May 15, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.
A retired cook for Coco Palms, she was born Dec. 9, 1930, on Kaua‘i.
She is survived by daughter: Carmela (Lance) Nishihara; three sons: Frank “Kachi” (Joyleen) Rivera, Wayne (Liane) Rivera and Haku (Lei) Rivera; four sisters: Jennie (Blake) Pereira, Alice O’Rilley, Alvina Mills and Priscilla (Mike) Magallanes; one brother: Castro (Irene) Lovell; 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa with service to begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Enrique Jimenez
Enrique Jimenez of Kilauea died May 8, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 64.
A maintenance worker for Princeville, he was born July 15, 1938, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Violeta R. Jimenez of Kilauea; two sons: Alexander Jimenez of Kilauea and Jose (Emma) Jimenez of the Philippines; three daughters: Allen (Jaime) Javilillonar of the Philippines, Enriqueta (Bret) Dykhouse of Kilauea and Gemma Jimenez of Kilauea; two brothers: Jaime (Carmen) Jimenez of Kilauea and Eduardo (Emma) Jimenez of Kilauea; one sister: Hermelita (Rey) Salom of the Philippines; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, May 24, at St. Sylvester’s Church with services celebrated at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Kilauea Public Cemetery.

Leona M. Boyd
Leona M. Boyd of Boone, Iowa, died of emphysema Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home, at the age of 80.
Leona “Lonnie” Boyd was born on June 18, 1923 in Boone County, Iowa, to Martin and Lydia Krug.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Vernon.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Jerry Bravard of Boone, Iowa; daughter, Carylee “Tolly” Boyd of Kalaheo, four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 20, at at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa.
