Katherine Rivera
Katherine Juanita Rivera of Anahola died May 15, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.
A retired cook for Coco Palms, she was born Dec. 9, 1930, on Kaua‘i.
She is survived by a daughter, Carmela (Lance) Nishihara; three sons, Frank “Kachi” (Joyleen) Rivera, Wayne (Liane) Rivera and Haku (Lei) Rivera; four sisters, Jennie (Blake) Pereira, Alice O’Rilley, Alvina Mills and Priscilla (Mike) Magallanes; one brother, Castro (Irene) Lovell; 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 22, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa with service to begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Martha W. Kapuniai of Waimea, died May 14, 2004, at Kauai Care Center at the age of 78.
Born May 18, 1925, on O‘ahu, she was a pineapple cannery employee and planter for a sugar plantation.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann (Owen) Kauahi and Yvonne Woaala Pascua; one son, Lawrence Kalani (Rhonda) Kapuniai, Jr. and two siblings, Judy Kama and Noah Kekahuna; numerous nieces, and nephews; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, May 22, at St. Joseph’s Church in Kaumakani with Memorial Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
