Hemana Akita
Hemana Akita of Kekaha, Kauai, died on Aug. 31, 2002, at Mahelona Hospital, at the age of 83.
Born in Hawaii, on Oct. 9, 1918, he was a groundskeeper.
He is survived by two sisters: Alice Zenger and Eleanor Mihal; four brothers: Joseph Akita, Jr.; Solomon Ono; Lindbergh Akita and Norman Akita.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 6, at Kekaha Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 3:30 p.m. Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Linda Wadley
Linda Wadley of Wailua, Kauai, died on Aug. 21, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 52.
Born in California on Aug. 11, 1950, she was Book Sales for Border’s Book.
She is survived by her husband: Timothy Grand of Wailua; one son: James Work of Texas; one daughter: Melissa Work of California; three sisters and 2 brothers.
Private services were held.

Estrella Sharon
Estrella “Essie” Sharon died at her home on Knollwood Drive on June 16, 2002, after a 5-year battle with cancer. She was 58 years old. She was born on Sept 2, 1943 on Kaua’i. She was an 18-year resident of Ridgefield, CT.
She was the daughter of Veronica Ulanday and the late Bernaldo Ulanday.
She was a nursery school teacher for The Ridgefield Children’s Center, which later became New England Country Day School. She spent the last 2 of her 6 years there as Assistant Director. She was subsequently employed by Pinchbeck Brothers Nursery of Ridgefield.
Sharon is survived by Denis Sharon, her husband of 26 years, three sons; Alan Sharon of Danbury; Kevin “Kiwi” Sharon of Ridgefield, and Shane Ulanday of Hawai’i, her mother Veronica Ulanday of Kekaha, Hawai’i. She is also survived by six siblings; Jeanie Warren of Texas, Lettitia Ulanday of Hawai’i, Blu Ulanday of Hawai’i, Loraine Stout of Hawai’i, Christine McDaniel of California and Mark Ulanday of Hawai’i and five grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Saturday Sept. 7, at St. Theresa Church, in Kekaha. Visitation with family will be at 10 a.m. with Mass to follow at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be sent to her husband, (Denis Sharon, 133 Knollwood Drive, Ridgefield, CT 06877), which will be used to establish an enduring scholarship fund for St. Theresa’s School in Kekaha, Hawai’i.
