Shigeomi Kubota of Koloa, HI, died at home on Nov. 29, 2001, at the age of 86.
Born in Kekaha, on Jan. 3, 1915, he was a retired councilman for the County of Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Kubota of Koloa, Kaua’i; sons, Brian (Virginia) Kubota of Lawrence, KS, and Burt (Debra) Kubota of Koloa, Kaua’i; daughters, Adele (Don) Stevens of Honolulu, O’ahu; Louella (Calvin) Rita of Makawao, Maui; and Sue Kubota of Honolulu, O’ahu; brothers Herbert (Kay) Kubota of Mililani, O’ahu; sister, Edna Imaoka of Waipahu, O’ahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Koloa Missionary Church; services officiated by Pastor Niles Kageyama will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Lawai Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Aileen Ayako Harada of Hanalei, Kaua’i, died Nov. 26, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 58.
A cook with the hotel industry, she was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Kilauea, Kaua’i.
She is survived by one daughter: Julie (Teddy) Harada-Panon of Las Vegas; longtime companion: Kealoha Saffery of Hanalei; two sisters: Lorraine Harada of Wainiha and Pauline Harada of Wainiha; two brothers: Wayne (Keikilani) Harada of Wainiha and Stuart (Beth) Harada of Arizona; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Waioli Church in Hanalei. Services will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. with private burial at a later date at Kaua’i Memorial Garden.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
