Shigeomi Kubota of Koloa, HI, died at home on Nov. 29, 2001, at the age of 86.
Born in Kekaha, on Jan. 3, 1915, he was a retired councilman for the County of Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Kubota of Koloa, Kaua’i; sons, Brian (Virginia) Kubota of Lawrence, KS, and Burt (Debra) Kubota of Koloa, Kaua’i; daughters, Adele (Don) Stevens of Honolulu, O’ahu; Louella (Calvin) Rita of Makawao, Maui; and Sue Kubota of Honolulu, O’ahu; brothers Herbert (Kay) Kubota of Mililani, O’ahu; sister, Edna Imaoka of Waipahu, O’ahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Garden Island Mortuary; services officiated by Pastor Niles Kageyama of the Koloa Missionary Church will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Lawai Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Milton Aluag
Milton “Danny Boy” Aluag, of Torrance, Calif., died Nov. 2, 2001, at the age of 55.
Born Nov. 1, 1946, in Kekaha, Kaua’i, he graduated from St. Theresa’s School and Waimea High School. He was a director of operations for Infonet Inc. in El Segundo, Calif.
Preceded in death by his parents, Estanislao and Florence Aluag, he is survived by his wife of 24 yeras, Irma Pulani; son, Landis (Amy) Aluag and daughters Lanis (Ozzy) of California and Alina (Arlen) Wilkes of Idaho and 10 grandchildren; brothers Ronald Aluag of California, Steven Aluag of Pennsylvania and Stanley and Albert Aluag, both of Hawai’i and sister Audrey Swanson of California.
Memorial services were held Nov. 10, in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. Arrangements were handled by Green Hills Mortuary.
Tamotsu Nishio
Tamotsu Nishio of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 28, 2001, at the age of 83.
Born in Kilauea, Kaua’i on Aug. 1, 1918, he was a retired carpenter with various construction companies.
He is survived by his wife: Yoshie of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; son, Glenn (Esther) Nishio of Honolulu, O’ahu; two grandsons; brothers, Tadao (Shinako) Nishio of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, Yoshito Nishio of Honolulu and Kelly Nishio of Honolulu, O’ahu; sisters, Kiyoko (Robert) Hasegawa of Honolulu, O’ahu and Flora (Akira) Umehara of Honolulu, O’ahu; numerous nieces and nephews. Private service will be held.
