Behind four points from Mei-Ling Keopuhiwa, the Island Girlz stormed to a 6-1 lead over the Anahola Sparks before cruising to a 19-6 win in Kaua’i Youth Basketball Association girls 14-under action Tuesday night at Kilauea Gymnasium.
Keopuhiwa ended with a game-high 12 points. For the Girlz, Tahnee Shigematsu scored two, Rachel Taira had three and Jacey Ageno two.
Kristine Sugai led Anahola with four points. Elizabeth Cole scored the other two.

Also Tuesday, the Puhi Wildcats blasted the Kapa’a 76ers 27-3.
Starlene Kelekoma led Puhi with 11 points. Sherri Gebauer scored six, Aghley Silva four and Cherisse Rapozo four. Nalinee Pickop scored two.
Vania Singleterry scored all three of Kapa’a’s points.
