County officials announced new days of operation for the solid waste staging area at Kepuhi Point on the North Shore will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
“Given the extended timeline for the closure of Kuhio Highway, from Waikoko to Wainiha, the reduction in hours is necessary to provide the community with continued refuse service at Kepuhi Point,” said Acting County Engineer Lyle Tabata.
The staging area will be open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents may dispose of bulky items, green waste, tires, metals, white goods and propane tanks, at the facility.
Liquid waste, hazardous waste and regular household refuse are not accepted at the staging area. Regular household refuse must be placed in county refuse carts on the right-of -way for weekly refuse collection service.
