Miyoshi M. Fujimoto
Miyoshi M. Fujimoto, 96, of Lihue, passed away on Sept. 9, 2018, at her home in Lihue.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1921, on Kauai.
She was preceded in death by husband Michiyuki Fujimoto.
She is survived by sons Dennis (Sandie) Fujimoto, Stanley (Robin Ishibashi) Fujimoto, Keith (Wanda) Fujimoto, Donald (Susan) Fujimoto and Dr. Ronald (Cheryl) Fujimoto, sisters Violet Matsumoto and Lillian Akagi, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Miyako ‘Betty’ Yama
Miyako “Betty” Yama, 96, of Kapaa, passed away at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on Aug. 30, 2018. She was born in Honolulu on May 22, 1922, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Suyeto Yama, and brothers Shigeru Wakayama, Tadao Wakayama, Ernest Wakayama and Stanley Wakayama.
She is survived by children Rodney (Patricia) Yama, Dwight (Judy) Yama, Valerie (David) Lee and Winston (Julia) Yama, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren, two great-
great-grandchildren, brother Jack (Florence) Wakayama of California, sisters Kate Watase of Oahu, Grace (Kenji) Munechika of Oahu and Irene (Jerry) Matsuda of Washington, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services and inurnment will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts) and no flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
