Kudos to Sherri Sanchez Holcomb on another successful Children’s Miracle Network Charity Craft Fair and Food Booth (the brownies were the bomb!) at the Kauai Marriott Resort &Beach Club.

Stephanie Deng only launched her Kauai Handmade boutique this month, and already is looking for a rack so she can display the bikinis she creates. One of the eye-catchers is the “kahelelani (this is the Kauai-grown variety) in resin,” which comes in different shapes as necklaces among her jewelry offerings. And, she even makes lotions and soaps!
Kauai Marriott was a hub of activity last week as Mufi Hannemann, president and CEO of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association (remember that Charity Walk?), stopped by to talk travel industry with the more-than-five years’ of interns (Brittney Yoshida couldn’t leave — she had to go help Laurie Yoshida at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce second quarter general membership meeting) from the Kauai High School Academy of Hospitality and Tourism (Charlene Navarro even made the gathering coordinated by Chuck Brady and Paul Toner).
Great job to Mark Perriello, Stephanie Iona, Laurie Yoshida and their crew on a great meeting where nearly 400 people came to check out the fancy decorations, and science, technology, engineering and math demonstration stations. Happy retirement, Kauai Police Department Chief Darryl Perry and Kauai Fire Department Chief Robert Westerman, and, of course, the Kauai Chamber of Commerce scholarship recipients — Helena Huffman, Taegan Keep, Kimberly Matutina, Jason Pagtolingan, Leanna Theskin and Marco Ray Bucao (his sister Jamie was one of the Empowered Women at the Kauai Fashion Weekend!).
