“KauaiCannCare LLC is committed to raising awareness and educating all people about the benefits and uses of medical cannabis and industrial hemp for patients and residents of Kauai,” said a press release. “Despite many historic misunderstandings, cannabis is a safe and effective natural medicine.”
Hemp, a form of cannabis, is used for health, textiles, building materials, plus more. Hemp is a commercially viable crop for Hawaii.
“We believe it is time for patients and non-patients to come out of the dark,” the release said.
New studies suggest that cannabis does not lead to hard drug addiction, rather it helps opioid addicts and alcoholics overcome their harmful chemical dependencies, according to the release. Many other studies show the health benefits for epilepsy, OCD, and depression.
