Otherwise, the whispering wind blew between 0 and 10 knots from the West-southwest creating a bobbing field of boats over the 2.10-mile course covering two legs.
Fast Company picked up top honors in both Elapsed time at 46 minutes, 35 seconds, and corrected to a top finish in the PHRF class at 46:39.
She was followed by Bonjolea II who crossed on a 56:39 elapsed sail and corrected to 57:59 PHRF for second place in both elapsed time and PHRF classes.
The interesting races took place between the No. 3 through No. 6 slots where Papaau crossed third overall at 1:12:37 elapsed and corrected to 1:09.:31 PHRF.
Coyote, crossing at 1:22:412 elapsed in sixth place, corrected to 1:17:26 PHRF catapaulting to the No. 4 position in that class, just 32 seconds ahead of Weatherly who crossed on a 1:17:51 sail and corrected to 1:17:26, less than a minute ahead of Coyote. Speedy crossed on a 1:18:49 elapsed sail and corrected to 1:17:;58 PHRF.
Coyote, in leading the battle for the No. 4 spot in the PHRF class, also corrected to 1:05:04 Club for top honors in that class.
The final race of the NYC Rum Series takes place Thursday and the NYC Race Committee invites the public to view the competition at the jetty wall area when the first flags fly at 5 p.m.
