Kauai High remains unseeded at KIF state baseball

Kauai High School baseball, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, will begin its bid for the state title Wednesday against No. 4 seed Molokai.

The Red Raiders did not receive a seeding from the Wally Yonamine Foundation Hawaii High School Athletic Association, Division II when the announcements were made last week on Oahu.

Kauai High School will enter the state tournament in the quarterfinals against the No. 4 Molokai Farmers at the Hans L’Orange field in Waipahu starting at 7 p.m.

All of the state Division II games will take place at the Hans L’Orange field when No. 3 seed Waianae opens against Hawaii Preparatory Academy starting at 11:30 a.m.

The opening game is followed by the No. 2 seed Kamehameha Schools — Hawaii taking on Nanakuli High School at 2 p.m. followed by the top seed Maryknoll hosting Radford High School starting at 4:30 p.m.

The Molokai, Kauai High School match closes out the day with the winners advancing to the Les Murakami Stadium on the campus of the University of Hawaii in the semifinals on Friday.

The championship game for Division II state baseball is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at the Les Murakami Stadium.

The Mid-Pacific Institute earned the top seed in Division I with Campbell earning the No. 2 seed, Waiakea of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation earning the No. 3 seed and the Baldwin Bears of the Maui Interscholastic Federation getting the No. 4 seed.
