Aubrey H. Kunishige
Aubrey H. Kunishige passed on March 15 at Wilcox Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 18, 1948, at Waimea Hospital and was a program analyst at the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility.
He was preceded in death by his father Tamotsu Kunishige, and mother Kikue Kunishige.
He is survived by his wife Penny C. Kunishige, sons Daniel (Shellie) Kunishige of Oahu, Tobin (Almarie) Teruya of Baton Rogue, La., and Austin Kunishige of San Diego, Calif., daughter Alison (Rey Payumo) Kunishige of Oahu, grandchildren Alethea Teruya, Noah Cheng, Alwin Teruya, Julia Kunishige and Aria Kunishige, brothers-in-law Archie (Lynn) Ikehara and Leo Ikehara, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 15, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 3 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Vernon Tasaka
Vernon “Sonny” Tasaka of Wailua passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on March 27, at the age of 88. He was the owner of David’s Body & Fender Shop in Kapaia.
He was born in Hanalei on Oct. 29, 1928.
He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Tasaka, and his parents Kenichi and Asayo Tasaka.
He is survived by daughters Sheri Baker of California, Nina Tasaka of Wailua, Donna Tasaka (Wayne) Moore of South Carolina, hanai daughter Shawna Okami-Rose Hill of Nevada, grandchildren Karlina Tasaka of Wailua, Das Baker of California, and Wayne Moore Jr., Kaitlyn and Kyle Moore of South Carolina, great-grandchildren Kaylin Espada-Tasaka, Kaleomana Tasaka, Roselynn, Christopher and Micah Rapozo, all of Wailua, and Brooke and Graysin Moore of South Carolina.
He is also survived by sisters Shinae Tasaka of Hanalei and Winona Yoshida of Oahu, brother Clyde Tasaka of Wailua, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 12, at the Lydgate Beach Park main pavilion. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to noon, with services to follow.

Henry Efhan
Henry Efhan of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on April 2 at the age of 77. He was born in Kilauea on May 14, 1939, and was a member of Operating Engineers Local Union No 3. He retired from working as a heavy equipment operator with various construction companies throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Dang Efhan, parents Tiopelo and Ciriaca Mondarte Efhan, brothers Francisco Efhan, Lorenzo Efhan, Juan Efhan, Maximo Efhan Sr., Alfredo Efhan and Inocencio “Sancho” Efhan, and sisters Rosita Efhan, Mary Louis and Patricia Chapman.
He is survived by sons Darryl Efhan of Kapaa and Joel (Suzanne) Efhan of Honolulu, daughter Donna Efhan of Kapaa, grandchildren Kaileen and Kenton Efhan of Catalina Island, Calif., and David and Charles Efhan of Honolulu, brothers Gary (Judith) Efhan of California and Vicente (Helga) Efhan of Kapaa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on April 29 at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
The family requests no monetary gifts. Flowers will be accepted.

Alice Akiko Oshita
Alice Akiko Oshita of Lihue passed away at home on March 27 at the age of 86. She was born in Hawaii on Nov. 21, 1930, and retired from Macy’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband Koichi Oshita, brothers Isao, Kenchi, Toshio and Mitsuo Kagehiro, and sisters Janet Kagehiro and baby sister Kagehiro.
She is survived by children Noreen Roy, Bridgette Lynne Oshita, Lennet Ken Oshita and Alcyne (Stephen) Chung, grandchildren Kathryn (Noel) Roy Asuncion, Sierra Pilialoha Chung, Sereney Chung, great-grandson Joshua Asuncion, brother Hisa (Choko) Kagehiro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Aloha Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m., with refreshments to follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Oshita family with arrangements.
