Dolores Dias
Dolores Dias, 87, of Hanamaulu, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Dec. 31, 2018. She was born in Lihue on Nov. 2, 1931, and retired as a cocktail waitress at Kauai Surf.
She was preceded in death by husband David Dias Sr., brother Michael Rapozo, sons Robin Dias, Nolan Dias and Wendell Dias, and grandsons Malani Dias and Tyson Dias.
She is survived by sons David Dias Jr. and Samuel (Melissa) Dias, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Fumie Isobe
Fumie Isobe, 99, of Lihue, passed away on Jan. 9, 2019 at Garden Isle Healthcare. She was born in Hanapepe on April 13, 1919, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Kinichi Isobe, son John Isobe, parents Wasaku and Ise Wakasa, and sisters Shizue Yoshimoto, Betty Ushigome and Elaine Wakasa.
She is survived by daughter Ann (James) Toyota, daughter-in-law Amy Isobe, and grandchildren Scott Toyota and Colin Toyota.
Private services were held.
The family graciously declines any monetary gifts.

Mark Adam Dizol
Mark Adam Dizol, 54, of Kalaheo, passed away on Jan. 12, 2019 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Feb. 17, 1964, in Portland, Maine, he retired from the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by father Fernando Dizol, mother Shirley A. Ancheta, brother Alan Dizol Sr., and sisters Elizabeth Dizol and Selina Dizol Galvan.
He is survived by wife Dawn Dizol of Washington, mother Zina Dizol, daughter Pualani Makamae Dizol of Fort Collins, Colorado, brothers Fernando “Sonny” (Francine) Dizol III of Kauai, James (Zenaida) Dizol of Koloa and Kekoa (Delia) Dizol of Koloa, sisters Vicki Dizol Mostofo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kawailani (Bruce) Newport-Kilauano of Kekaha, Raylene “Sissy” Kahale of Koloa, Leonora Dizol Kai‘aokamalie of Lawai and Andra Ota of Lihue, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Jan. 27, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 1 p.m., where services will be celebrated at 3 p.m.
His final resting will be at Kauai Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Teresa Annette Floreen (Bukoski) Morita
Teresa Annette Floreen (Bukoski) Morita, 62, of Koloa, passed away on Jan. 13, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center. She was born in Lihue on Jan. 22, 1956, and worked most recently as an office assistant with Workforce Development Division services in the American Job Center.
She was preceded in death by parents Antone Bukoski Jr. and Flora Lumacad Bukoski, and brothers Patrick Bukoski, Robert (Felicia) Bukoski and Wayne Paglinawan.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Wesley (Val) Morita, daughter, Westy (Derek), son, Anthony (Joanie) Morita, brothers Ivan Navarro, Carl Paglinawan and Nolan Paglinawan, sister Darlene McHenry, grandchildren Tylenn, Selena, Krystah, Tiare and Skyler Morita and Aukai, Keegan and James Kessler. She also had numerous nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa. Visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m., with Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will take place at St. Raphael Cemetery in Koloa at a later date.

Dionis ‘Nicia’ Niniau Doronio Bernaldes McGihon
Dionis “Nicia” Niniau Doronio Bernaldes McGihon, 68, of Waimea Valley, passed away peacefully at Queen’s Medical Center on Dec. 20, 2018. Born on June 15, 1950 in Waimea, she was a retired school administrative assistant at Waimea High School and spent her retirement years joyfully serving as a regular pioneer with the Kekaha Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by father Dionicio Doronio and brothers Carlos Doronio, Agapito Doronio Sr. and Stanywick Yadao.
She is survived by husband James Bernaldes McGihon of Waimea, son Marcus “Kulani” (Ena) Bernaldes of Honolulu, daughters Jacqueline Bernaldes of Waimea, Jamie “Loke” McGihon of Nanakuli and Joycelyn (Marc) Cobb-Adams of Honolulu, mother Becky Niniau Kualu of Kekaha, hanai son John “Kawika” Wilson of Kapaa, eight grandchildren, brothers Daniel Doronio of Keaau and Reuben (Agnes) Doronio of Kekaha, sisters Amore Camara of Hanapepe, Nora (Cippy) Ragocos of Kekaha and Becky “Honey Bea” (Joseph) Noon of Kentucky, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center lawn, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. The family suggests aloha attire.
Masami ‘Pops’ Kawada
Masami “Pops” Kawada, 93, of Wailua, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 23, 2019. He was born in Lihue on June 18, 1925, and retired from Kauai Commercial Company as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by wife Hazel Kawada and son Randall Kawada.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy “Sachiko” (Ichiro) Nakamoto of Japan, sons Clayton (Aurora Ann) Kawada of Lihue and Wilbert (Sun-U) Kawada of Oahu, grandchildren Arron and Andrew Kawada, great-grandchildren Adin and Andrew Kawada, sisters Sumi Yamauchi and Sue Thompson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.

Florence Takeshiro Chang, 92, of Kapaa, passed away on Jan. 11, 2019, at her home. She was born on March 24, 1926, in Kealia. She was a cafeteria worker at Kapaa High School.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert Chang and son-in-law James Gotelli.
She is survived by son Mark (Donna) Chang of Washington, daughters Diane Wilson of California and Beverly Gotelli of Kapaa, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, brother Aaron Takeshiro of Honolulu, sisters Shirley (Norman) Akita of Lihue and Edith Luke of Illinois, sister-in-law Ann Faber Chang of Honolulu, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosita Ruguian Obongen
Rosita Ruguian Obongen, 77, of Kapaa, passed away in Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Jan. 22, 2019. She was born in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on June 13, 1941, and retired from G.N. Wilcox Hospital as a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by husband Bernabe Obongen and son Bernard Obongen.
She is survived by son Romeo (Fe) Obongen of Fontana, California, daughters Juliet Obongen of Kapaa, Nancy (Lars) Pedersen of Guildford, United Kingdom, and May (Ryan) Castro of Long Beach, California, 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sisters Eugenia Lutrania of the Philippines and Lolita Lacaden of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at St. Catherine Church, with viewing from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. The family requests aloha or other colorful attire.

Marianne Lewis, 83, passed away on Jan. 19, 2019, on Kauai.
Born on July 27, 1935, in Rochester, New York, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Pete Lewis, son Kirk Lewis, parents Matthew and Agnes Hoenig, and brother John Hoenig.
She is survived by son Mark (Sherron) Lewis of Portland, Oregon, daughters Lisa (Jack) Freepartner of Kauai, Kris (Hakan) Anderberg of Sweden, Kennedy (James) Knapp of Kauai, grandchildren John and Christian Freepartner, Croix and Taylor Lewis, Stuart and Drew Lewis, Alison Lewis, William Anderberg, and Jayme, Johan and Kendra Knapp, and five great-grandchildren.
