Emiko Daido of Honolulu, O’ahu, died at Hanapepe, Kaua’i, on Dec. 13, 2001, at the age of 68.
Born in Pahoa, Big Island on Aug. 27, 1933, she was a housewife.
She is survived by husband, James K. Daido of Honolulu, O’ahu; children, Grace (David) Leong of Hanapepe, Kaua’i, Steven Daido of Calif., Ruth (Larry) Young of Honolulu, O’ahu, Esther Daido of Honolulu, O’ahu, Daniel Daido of Honolulu, O’ahu, Hannah Daido of Honolulu, O’ahu, and Anna Fausto of Honolulu, O’ahu; six grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Doris)Yamauchi of Big Island; sisters, Aiko Nagatoshi of Calif., Sachie (Charles) Jones of Honolulu, O’ahu, Yachie Motobu of Big Island and Chizuko (Roy) Nakamura of Ewa Beach, O’ahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary chapel. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Veterans cemetery at Kaneohe.

Rose Coots
Rose Marie Coots of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Dec. 13, 2001 at the age of 86.
Born in California on Aug. 4, 1915, she was a Field Director with the American Lung Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Coots and her two brothers Zeke and Vic Rossotti. She is survived by her daughter: Martha Espiritu of Lihu’e; one son: John Coots of California; two sisters: Kay Jensen of California, Norma Gleason of California; three granddaughters: Leah (Brad) Akana; Ashley Espiritu; Nicole Coots; two grandsons: Michael Coots and Ryan Espiritu; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia. Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Patricia Roldan
Patricia Roldan of Hacienda, White Cloud, California; died Dec. 2, 2001, in California at the age of 67.
A retired school teacher for 31 years, she was born on the Big Island on Aug. 23, 1934.
Predeceased by her sister, Delfine Haraguchi, she is survived by her husband, Sederio Roldan; one son, Jhonthan Roldon and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Catbagan of Kapa’a; brothers Maurice (Diana) Catbagan, Jr., Rodolfo (Val) Catbagan, and sisters Irine (Erik) Williams, and Leilani (Darral) Cramer).

David Hartman
David Ross Hartman of Koloa, Kaua’i, died Dec. 11, 2001, at his home at the age of 52.
An artist and a glass blower, he was born June 7, 1949, in California.
He is survived by his wife: Jode Hartman of Koloa; one daughter: Angela (Rich) Distefano of Sacramento; one son: Jon Kindig; one sister: Susie (Derk) Parker of Kansas; close cousin, Bob Proffitt of Nebraska, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Waiohai Beach at 4 p.m. Family and friends who would like to join the family at the beach with their surf boards are asked to wear beach attire and join them in scattering his cremains.
