WAILUA — Keiki paddlers with the Pu‘uwai Canoe Club’s Children’s program were thrilled when they were visited by Kirsty Holmes and Lisa Curry-Kenny during their Monday practice.
Curry-Kenny, who teamed with Robyn Saultry, topped the women’s division in the 2004 Steinlager Kaua‘i World Challenge that was held the Saturday before.
The Australian women are part of a 10-member paddling team from Mooloolaba, a town in Queensland.
Holmes and Curry-Kenny were the winning women’s division team in the Molokai Relay held recently, and following their mini clinic with the Pu‘uwai keiki paddlers, the pair rushed off to the airport to catch a flight back to O‘ahu where they will prepare to take part in the upcoming Molokai solo races.
