Juan Keawelauli‘iomakana Ipac of ‘Ele‘ele, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 63.
Born in Waimea, Kaua‘i, on Sept. 27, 1941, he was a retired supervisor for McBryde Sugar Plantation and landscaper for Leilani Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ipac of ‘Ele‘ele; sons, John Dean Keawelauli‘iomakana Ipac and Justin Leandro Yadao Ipac, both of Hanapepe; daughters, Jennie (Villamor Jr.) Balisacan and Jacielyn Balisacan Ipac, both of ‘Ele‘ele; four grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele, David Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele and Jerome (Paula) Dotimas of Hanapepe; sisters, Aileen (Bill) Farias of Lihu‘e, Gloria Callejo of Numila, Gladys (Keokolo) Kapoi of Lihu‘e and Avis Ha‘o of Lihu‘e.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Sacred Hearts Church in ‘Ele‘ele with Mass at 11 a.m. Scattering of ashes to be done at a later date. A lei of aloha is requested by the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.

Joseph Donat Stason of Kapa‘a died Nov. 3, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.
Born Dec. 30, 1922, in Lihu‘e, he was a truck driver for the State Government. He was also a veteran in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife: Merly V. Cruz of Kapa‘a; stepchildren: Marian (Kevin) Takekuma of Wailua and John Michael Cruz of New York; two sisters: Mildred (Donald) Sample of Anbapolis, Md. and Dorothy Milles of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchild, Kambre Myleen Yachiyo Cruz Takekuma of Wailua; nieces and nephews: Drs. Christine (Brian) Schafer of Michigan, Brian, Stason, T.J., and Britney, Kathryn (Greg) MacDonald of Maryland and Tenda and Tarryn.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia at 8:30 a.m. Services at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
