James Gerardo
James Gerardo of Hanama‘ulu died at his home at the age of 80.
Born July 9, 1924, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was an electrician for Kauai Electric.
He is survived by eight children: Joyce (Terry) Daligdig of Wailua Homesteads, James K. Gerardo of Hanama‘ulu, Alison (Clayton) Silva of Kapa‘a, Brenda (Reynaldo) Coloma of Hanama‘ulu, Alan (Rose) Gerardo of California, Brian (Shanell) Gerardo of Kapa‘a, Marylyn (Jerry) Gerardo of Hanama‘ulu, and Kathy (Matthew) Louis of ‘Oma‘o; four brothers; two sisters; 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Mary J. Emura of Kekaha died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Nov. 4, 2004 at the age of 75.
Born in Koloa on Dec. 31, 1928, she was a sales clerk with Kuramoto Store. She is survived by husband, Henry; three sons, Ray (Adelaide), Myles (Sherry) and Marvin, all of Kekaha; daughter, Charleen (Edward) MacDowell of Kapa‘a; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Louis Jacintho Jr.; two sisters, Eleanor Carvahlo and Lydia Sakimae; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Service were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Albert “Big Al” Ah You Kon, Jr.
Albert “Big Al” Ah You Kon, Jr. of Anahola, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Straub Hospital, Honolulu, at the age of 61.
Born March 10, 1943, in Lihu‘e, he was a security officer. He was known as the “Home Run King” of Kaua‘i by his many ballplayer, golfing and dart-playing friends.
He is survived by his wife: Arlene Kon of Kapa‘a; one daughter: Alice Marie Wieltz of Lihu‘e; one son: Jason Kalani Byrge of Denver, Colo., one granddaughter: Priscilla Wieltz of Lihu‘e; three sisters: Helen Sa of Anahola, Alice Kaahu of Honolulu, Sweetie (Bobby) Azevedo of Honolulu; one sister-in-law: Roseanne Kon of Honolulu; two step sons: Chas Lono (Charlene) McGee of Kapa‘a and Anthony “Toa” (Laurie) Hepa of Kapa‘a; five stepdaughters: Toni Puanani McGee of Honolulu, Velene McGee of Kalaheo, Tracie (Mark) Furumoto of Kapa‘a, Billie Mapuana (Vailaau) Vai of Las Vegas, and Lainie Kainoa (Adam) Wojax of Las Vegas, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa where services will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Cremation to follow. Scattering of ashes will take place at Aliomanu Beach on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Juan Ipac
Juan Keawelauli‘iomakana Ipac of ‘Ele‘ele died Nov. 4, 2004, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 63.
Born in Waimea on Sept. 27, 1941, he was a retired supervisor for McBryde Sugar Plantation and landscaper for Leilani Corporation.
Preceded in death by his father, Teofilo Ipac, brother Loren Dotimas and stepfather Antone Dotimas, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Ipac of ‘Ele‘ele; sons, John Dean Keawelauli‘iomakana Ipac and Justin Leandro Yadao Ipac, both of Hanapepe; daughters, Jennie (Villamor Jr.) Balisacan and Jacielyn Balisacan Ipac, both of ‘Ele‘ele; four grandchildren; mother Helen Dotimas; brothers, Gilbert Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele, David Dotimas of Kekaha, Tony (Donna) Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele, Mark Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele and Jerome (Paula) Dotimas of Hanapepe; sisters, Aileen (Bill) Farias of Lihu‘e, Gloria Callejo of Numila, Gladys (Keokolo) Kapoi of Lihu‘e and Avis Ha‘o of Lihu‘e.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Sacred Hearts Church in ‘Ele‘ele with mass at 11 a.m. Scattering of ashes to be done at a later date. A lei of aloha is requested by the family.

Kaimana Larry Dias-Duque of Lihu‘e died Nov. 1, 2004, at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children at the age of 2.
Born Nov. 18, 2001, in Lihu‘e, he is survived by his mother: Jessica Dias of Lihu‘e; father: Justin Duque of Puhi; maternal grandmother: Donna Dias of Lihu‘e; maternal grandfather: Dennis Baxter of Honolulu; maternal great-grandmother: Corliss Dias of Wailua; paternal grandparents: Larry and Lona Duque of Puhi; paternal great grandparents: Lono and Frances Fu of Anahola; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Services at 11 a.m., burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Sasha Kuuleileialoha Davis of Honolulu and formerly of Kapa‘a, died Nov. 8, 2004, at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center at the age of 23.
Born May 5, 1981, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons Kaleonahe Vagai-Davis and Kawela Vagai-Davis; mother Donna Davis; sisters Shaila Davis-Sechler and Summer Davis-Sechler; grandparents Everette & Julia Davis and Odeleen Davis.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Waikane Congregational Church, with service at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Moanalua Mortuary.
