Six swimmers from Mokihana Aquatics will be heading up to Kailua-Kona on the Big Island from Saturday through Tuesday for the 2005 Age Group Short Course Championships.
12-year-old Keyah-Leilani Agoot and 17-year-old Katelyn Umetsu head the girls field. Agoot will be competing in the 11-12 division in the 100 fly, the 50 breast, and the 200 IM.
Umetsu will be in the 17-18 division, competing in the 200 fly, 100 free, 100 fly, and the 100 back.
Four boys, including Ben Baldwin, Tyson Chihara, Kelsey Tanaka, and Randy Umetsu will be traveling to Hawai‘i for Mokihana Aquatics. All four are 14 and will be competing in the 13-14-year-old division.
Ben Baldwin will be competing in the 400 IM, 100 breast, 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 500 free, 200 free, and the 200 IM.
Chihara has five events on his agenda, which includes the 100 breast, 100 free, 200 breast, 50 free, and the 200 IM.
Tanaka will be competing in the 100 breast, 100 free, 200 free, and the 50 free.
Meanwhile, Umetsu will have a full plate of events on his schedule, which includes the 100 breast, 100 free, 200 back, 100 fly, 200 breast, 50 free, 200 IM, 100 back.
In addition to the individual events, there will be five relay squads competing for the state title.
They include the 13-14 800 free (Baldwin, Umetsu, Tanaka, Chihara), the 13-14 400 free (Baldwin, Tanaka, Umetsu, Chihara), the 13-14 200 medley (Umetsu, Baldwin, Chihara, Tanaka), the 13-14 400 medley (Umetsu, Baldwin, Chihara, Tanaka), and the 13-14 200 free (Umetsu, Baldwin, Chihara, Tanaka).
