Apolinaria Duterte Castillo
Apolinaria (Annie) Duterte Castillo of Puhi, died at Straub Hospital on Feb. 8, 2005, at the age of 76.
Born in Hanama‘ulu, on July 23, 1928, she worked 33 years and retired from Kauai Surf and Westin Kauai Hotels.
She is survived by husband, Bernardo; two daughters, Dorene (Tony) Frey of Kalaheo and June Tada of Po‘ipu; two grandchildren: Channing Tada and Kimberly (Myca) Paglinawan; one great-grandchild; brother, Florentino (Virginia) Duterte of Hanama‘ulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Mass officiated by Father William Shannon will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Local arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Juan Herman Garan of Honolulu, died at Kuakini Hospital, on Jan. 31, 2005, at the age of 63.
Born in Kapa‘a on March 19, 1949, he was a merchant seaman for Military Sealift Command.
He is survived by Bernie Pedro; sons Jerry and John; daughters, Mary Jane, Amalia, Hermvi; mother, Amelia; brothers, Gaylen, Baron and Elmer; sisters, Josephine Koga, Shirley Crowder, Doriann Ching and Betty Poli; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary; service 7 p.m. Leis are welcome. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Filomena Cristobal Francisco of Hanapepe, died at Queen’s Hospital on Feb. 6, 2005, at the age of 80.
Born in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Feb. 2, 1925, she was a retired Adult Education Teacher with Kauai Community School for Adults, D.O.E in English and American Citizenship.
She is survived by husband, Juan M. Francisco; two sons, Randall Francisco of Honolulu, O‘ahu and Reuben (Cynthia) Francisco of Hanapepe; one grandchild, Brenton Francisco; one brother, Eulogio (Editha) Cristobal of Philippines; two sisters, Concepcion Sudario and Francisca Gallego both of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kalaheo; mass officiated by Father Napoleon Andres will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
