Kiwako Emura
Kiwako Emura of Kekaha died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Jan. 27, 2005, at the age of 78.
Born in Kekaha on July 20, 1926, she was a retired finance clerk with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.
She is survived by a brother, Henry Y. Emura of Kekaha; five sisters, Hisami Emura Higa of Kekaha, Chitose Emura Ichiki of ‘Ai‘ea, O‘ahu, Ruby Emura Doi of Waimea, June Emura (Ray) Kimata of ‘Ai‘ea, O‘ahu and Betsy Ann Emura (Wallace) Hill. Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Rosemary Beniamina
Rosemary Uilani Beniamina of ‘Ele‘ele died at Queen’s Memorial Hospital on Jan. 28, 2005, at the age of 45.
Born in Pu‘uwai, Ni‘ihau, on Mar. 22, 1959, she was a nurses aid with Hale Kupuna Heritage Home.
She is survived by two hanai sons, Daryl Hoku (Tish) Keamoai and Brian (Amber) Keamoai, both of Las Vegas; seven hanai daughters, Jolina (Jose) FelixKeamoai of ‘Ele‘ele, Joni Keamoai of Kekaha, Kuulei (Keoni) Martins of Kalaheo, Sanida Uileimahiehie Pahulehua of Kekaha, Cassie Kaohelaulii of Kekaha, Leilani Beniamina of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Leimomi Beniamina of ‘Ele‘ele; four grandchildren: Moanikealohilani FelixKeamoai, Momilani Martins, Xeniah Keamoai, Cierra Keamoai, and Waika CorrVidinha; four brothers, John (Kanani) Beniamina, Russell (Selentina) Beniamina, James “Kimo” (Marian) Beniamina and Jim (Pua) Beniamina; three sisters, Angie (Dale) Pahulehua, Lehua (Joseph) Kanahele and Keala (Ricky) Kahale.
Friends may visit with the family at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Pastor Kilborn, Capt. Schmig and Kahu Dana Kaohelaulii will begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary and Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Aurora Galutira
Aurora Eugenio Galutira of ‘Ele‘ele died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Jan. 23, 2005, at the age of 90.
Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on July 26, 1914, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Washington (Alicia) Miguel of Steilacoom, Wash., and Willie Miguel Sr. of ‘Ele‘ele; two daughters, Candelaria (Felix) Donato of San Jose, Calif., and Filomena (Emilio) Delos Santos of Maguindanao, Mindanao, Philippines; 20 grandchildren; and 30 greatgrandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel, with rosary at 6:45 p.m., service at 7 p.m. Visitation also from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Holy Cross Catholic Church; Mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Leoncia Aglibut
Leoncia Aglibut of Kapa‘a died at home on Jan. 27, 2005, at the age of 98.
Born in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on Sept. 5, 1906, she is survived by two sons, Domingo (Pacita) Aglibut and Constantino (Emy) Aglibut, both of the Philippines; three daughters, Cristeta Dasugo of the Philippines, Victoria Dato of the Philippines and Cecilia Soriano of Kapa‘a; 37 grandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren, greatgreatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a; Mass at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the church cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Russell Potts
A memorial service will be held for Russell D. Potts on Friday, Feb. 4, at the Hanalei Pier at 6 p.m. The Northshore Lions Club will conduct a brief service preceding this.
Russell was visiting his hometown of Indianapolis, Ind., at the time of his death on Dec. 26, and a funeral service was held there.
Island friends of Russell Potts are invited to celebrate his life at the service and to attend a potluck supper which will follow at the Wai‘oli Hui‘ia Mission Hall.
Jose Galiciano
Jose Nacapuy Galiciano of Kaumakani, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Kauai Veterans’ Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.
Born March 4, 1911, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a knapsack sprayer for Olokele Sugar Company. He is survived by his wife: Felicidad Rivera Galicinao of Kaumakani; three sons: Joseph Baxa of Lawa‘i, Albert (Judy) Baxa of West Covina, Calif., and Richard (Susan) Galicinao of Kaumakani; two daughters: Gloria (Ben) Ordinario of Renton, Wash., and Nancy Galicinao of Lake Forest, Calif.; three grandchildren: Gloryann Ordinario, Chanson Ordinario and Shamara Duhaylongsod and two great grandchildren: Mapuana Duhaylongsod and Keoni Silva.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Kaumakani Methodist Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Faustino Patricio Sr.
Faustino “Pat” Patricio Sr. of Kekaha died at his home on Jan. 4, 2005, at the age of 85.
Born in Kapa‘a on Oct. 29, 1919, he served as a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired as a supervisor from the Kekaha Sugar Co. and also was a school bus driver for Akita Enterprises. He coached youth football and baseball as well as refereed and umpired, respectively. He loved playing senior softball and was a member of the first team from Hawai‘i to ever win the World Series (75andover division.)
He is survived by his wife Estrellita C. “Esther” Patricio; four sons Fred (Julie) Patricio of Kekaha, Danny (Carmelita) Patricio of Kaumakani; Noel (Joni) Patricio of Lawa‘i and Nelson Patricio of Georgia; daughter: Amorita Jones of O‘ahu; brother: William (Shirley) Mande of Hanama‘ulu; sisters: Gladys Padre and Crispina (Dick) Laranio, both of Kapahi; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Faustino “Paos” Patricio Jr.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Kauai Veterans’ Cemetery with service and burial to follow. Casual attire is suggested.
Crescencia Lopez
Crescencia Pongasi Lopez of Lihu‘e died at Queen’s Hospital on Jan. 27, 2005, at the age of 82.
Born May 14, 1922, in Bohol Islands, Cebu, Philippines, she was a homemaker and a devoted Catholic. Preceded in death by her daughter, Hazel Rellin and her stepson Allan Lopez, she is survived by seven daughters: April J. Rellin of Maryland, Martha (Dennis) Kaminski of Illinois, Dolores (William) Barry of Alaska, Annie Rellin of Puhi, Sheila (Ralph) Schmarje of Arizona, Carmela Cabacungan of Lihu‘e, and Novella (Lawrence) Laranio of Waimea; two sons: Timothy Laranio of Anahola and Wayne (Leilani) Laranio of Kapa‘a; stepdaughter: Kathleen Lopez; four stepsons: Ali Birtadaso, Garrick Lopez, Ronald Lopez and Joe Lopez, 18 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia at 8:30 a.m. Services at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
