After being postponed for a couple weeks, officials from the Hawaiian Surfing Federation — Kaua‘i decided to turn the contest into a one- day event, which should get underway on Saturday at Kealia.

The entry deadline for the event is on Friday. Forms are available online at www.hsfkauai.com or at most surf shops around the island.
Events include menehune 11-under, boys 12-14, junior men 15-17, open men 18-24, girls 17-under, women 18-over, senior men 35-over, bodyboarding 14-under, and bodyboarding 15-17.
The fourth contest of the season is presented by the YMCA, Deja Vu, Split, and M. Miura Store.
Contest No. 5 heads to PK’s in Po‘ipu, with dates to be announced at a later time.
Start time for the competitio is around 7:45 a.m.
NSSA regional update The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) Hawai‘i Regional Championships have been put on hold, at least until April 29-30, because of the hazardous ocean conditions at Kewalos Basin on O‘ahu.
Some heats have been completed, but there are still many other divisions yet to be decided upon.
