Doesn’t anyone want to be No. 1 anymore? When USC was at the top of at least one poll, they went down. LSU was at the top and got bumped. Now it’s Ohio State’s turn. Good luck.
But it wasn’t just those teams who had a bad weekend. It was bad for our panel. David Bice did the best (and is ranked at the top overall) with 8-5. Ron Wiley came in second with 6-7. I was 5-8 and Dickie Chang fell 4-9.
Nancy Burton of Lihu‘e was the weekly winner with 8-5.
And what happened to the Cowboys? Come on Tony Romo! Well, I still think the Cowboys are of Super Bowl material.
Better luck this week, I suppose.
We should see a good game between Kaua‘i and Kapa‘a. It’s Kaua‘i’s homecoming, but Kapa‘a is getting on the boards. They led Waimea High School going into the half last week. So you never know.
Hawai‘i is off this week and will have its homecoming next week against New Mexico State.
Let’s talk about the picks for this week. Chris Baltazar of Kapa‘a joins us on the panel this week and seems to fit in with the panel’s picks.
I don’t know though. I know I picked South Florida to win over Rutgers, but the Bulls are ranked second in the nation right now and you know how the top guns are going down. Still, they’re a strong team and should prevail.
