Samira Siale, of the Hawai‘i Lodging and Tourism Association, is joined by volunteers from Kumu’s Cupboard and the Hawai‘iUSA FCU on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in distributing Charity Walk (it’s happening on May 4 at Vidinha Stadium) shirts and donated items from Kaua‘i Shrimp, Aloun Farms and Maluhia Cattle Company.

Citizen volunteer (love that title!) Greg Askew (preferred the Ono Pops moniker better) said Japanese Grandma Keiko will be hosting a free Kid’s Day Festival on Friday (yikes, it’s the same date as the Saint Catherine Carnival in Kapa‘a) from 4 p.m. for keiki 10 years and under at the Japanese Grandma restaurant. The free event that coincides with Friday Night Art will offer a bunch of keiki activities, including Mother’s Day (that’s coming up next week) crafts.
