Kylan Mark Gandia
Kylan Mark Gandia passed away on June 27, 2022, in Lahaina, Maui, at the age of 33. He was born on March 3, 1989 in Waimea. He was a tile setter.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Frederick and Emily Viquelia and paternal grandfather Richard Gandia.
He is survived by sons Kaiola Gandia of Koloa and Shylan Gandia, parents Celest (Norman) Tanaka, Marcos (Verna Somalpong) Gandia, brother David (Lea) Hanashiro of Lahaina, Maui, sisters Holly (Kapeli Tam) Gandia of Kaumakani and Kiara Gandia of Kekaha, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is at the Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, July 23, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., services from 10 to 11 a.m. and a celebration of life to follow at Lucy Wright Park in Waimea. The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
John William Spencer Jr.
John William Spencer Jr., 75, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away at his home on July 12, 2022. He was born on July 25, 1946, in Honolulu. He was a crane operator well known for construction throughout Hawai‘i.
He is survived by wife Jade Ku‘ulei Spencer, daughter Sophia LeiAloha Spencer-Pavao Isla, grandchildren Misty Pavao, Amberleigh Jamieson, Kaleomana Pavao, Sarahlei Pavao, Tehani Pavao and Annalisha Pavao and great-grandchildren Rylin and Sunny Jamieson.
A celebration of life is Sunday, July 31, at Punalu‘u Beach Park on O‘ahu from noon to 4 p.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Linda Margaret Chong
Linda Margaret Chong, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on June 22, 2022, at her home at the age of 73. She was born in Canada on Sept. 25, 1948. She was the sole proprietor of “Noe’s Bar & Grill”
She was preceded in death by mother Elizabeth Margaret Moore and father John Andrew Carlson.
She is survived by daughters Trish (Mark) Dill, Noe (Neal) Yoshino, son ‘Ekolu (Pualani Belmonte) Chong, and grandchildren Kala‘i Chong, Makoa Chong, Kaimana Chong, Makali‘i Chong and Liam Yoshino.
A private service will be held at a later date.
