LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i High School gym welcomed the Spring Season Wrestling with 19 grapplers participating through 15 matches in seven age and weight divisions. According to Coach Matt Pigot of the Westside Wrestling, the first matches got underway at 6:30 p.m.
The next Spring Season wrestling matches will take place at Kaua‘i High School, Friday starting at 5 p.m.
Wrestlers are reminded that they need to have current USA Wrestling Membership.
For practices on Tuesday and Thursday, wrestlers in Waimea can call Coach Wilder at 763-213-6188, for wrestlers in Lihu‘e, Coach Tim at 540-204-7947, and wrestlers in Kapa‘a can call Coach Nelson at 808-344-4233.
The Spring Season Wrestling continues on May 28, and June 4 with matches taking place at the Kapa‘a Kaua‘i Police Activities League starting at 10 a.m.
Westside Wrestling presents the season finale with a Clarissa Chun clinic on June 10, starting at 10 a.m. On June 11, the Spring Season wraps up with the Kaua‘i USAW Championship at the Clem Gomes Gym.
