Ken Morikawa aces Wailua No. 14

WAILUA — Ken Morikawa of Waimea can boast his first hole-in-one after carding an ace on the Wailua Golf Course 14th hole Wednesday.

“Four years ago, my wife Dee Morikawa had a hole-in-one on this same hole,” Ken said after accomplishing his ace on the 148-yard par 3 using a Honma 5 Hybrid.

Originally built as a nine-hole course in the 1930s, Wailua Golf Course was designed by Toyo Shirai, has hosted three U.S. Golf Association Amateur Public Links Championships, and was voted by Golf Digest magazine as one of Hawai‘i’s best 15 golf courses.
