PUHI — Kaua‘i Community College in partnership with the state Department of Health is hosting three appearances of the vaccination van offering both the Moderna and Johnson &Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.
As part of the University of Hawai‘i “Get Vaccinated UH!” campaign that started on March 5, students, faculty and staff must be fully vaccinated, or if unvaccinated submit a negative COVID-19 test each week to be allowed on campus, according to a University of Hawai‘i press release.
The release added that according to surveys from June, more than 92% of UH students and 95% of UH employees have been vaccinated, or plan on getting a vaccine.
The vaccine clinics hosted at KCC are to encourage people to get their doses during their appearances that start this Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The vaccination van will also be on campus Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 30 and 31, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Gary Ellwood of KCC said the “Get Vaccinated UH!” campaign is encouraging students and staff to register their vaccine information at UH LumiSight, the UH health-check app that screens for COVID-19 symptoms and possible exposure.
