Mogo Gomes not only delivered special birthday flowers (he also had that special puakenekene pie when Pono Coffee and Bakery opened), he bought a bunch of pyrotechnics for “Puhi Action.”
Erika had to quarantine, but was glad because she now found a new place other than the resort bubbles to stay on Kaua‘i.

Mayette Loseto got wiped out of her kadomatsu (she said she’ll be making for for the Pau Hana Market today at 3:30 p.m. at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e) and Hannah Huang had some gorgeous cauliflower heads coming out of Glory Farms during the Saturday Puhi Park Produce, where the blustery weather kept the shoppers serious (Happy New Year, Tess and Trent Shimabukuro!).
Akemi Dizol was “freezing” doing tent duty at Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i at Kukui Grove Center, and coach Peter Rayno had his celebrity cards (even the ones when he coached the Kaua‘i High School JV basketball team with Lenny Rapozo) available, and Duane Miyasato was parting with some of his clothing collectibles. And was that Vance Pascua doing Ainofea’ duty at the gems and crystal table?
