WAIMEA — The Waimea Public Library is offering a free board book for young children, 0 to 3 years old, during the library’s temporary open hours.
The book, sponsored by the Friends of the Waimea Public Library, is “Llama Llama Gives Thanks,” by Anna Dewdney, and is available while supplies last.
“Yes, it is our friends group that funded the books for giveaway,” said Michelle Young, the Waimea Public Library branch manager.
“The book is available to any keiki who visits the library during its temporary open hours. We’ve ordered some books to give away in December as well. We just wanted to treat kids to books since we are not able to do our annual Christmas event before the Waimea Christmas Lighted Parade.”
The Waimea Public Library’s temporary hours are Monday and Wednesday, noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., and Friday from noon to 4 p.m.
