Still time to register, vote

LIHU‘E — It requires a trip to the Voter Service Center in Lihu‘e, proper photo identification and a few other requirements, but there is still time to register and vote in Tuesday’s general election.

Hawai‘i is one of many states where election-day registration is allowed for U.S. citizens who are Hawai‘i residents and at least 18 years old.

According to the state elections website, elections.hawaii.gov, anyone who wishes to vote must complete an affidavit where a state driver’s license number of state ID number is required. People without either ID must provide the last four digits of their Social Security number.

The Office of the County Clerk Elections Division Voter Service Center in the Pi‘ikoi Building of the Lihu‘e Civic Center is open today from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
