LIHUE — Kauai Police Chief Todd Raybuck said every contribution to the Kauai Police Activities League is directed toward providing keiki with positive after school opportunities that they might not otherwise have.

“We are so grateful for every donation to our program because investing in our youth today is an investment in our community’s future,” Raybuck said.

Raybuck was joined by Kauai Police Department’s Mark Ozaki, Lance Okasaki, and Assistant Chief Roy Asher in accepting a $2,000 award from Enterprise Holdings presented by Tim Takeshita, Laine Malson, and Samira Siale at the K-PAL’s new facility at the Kukui Grove Center.

The new facility, situated across the mall entrance from Starbucks, offers another site where keiki can connect to adult mentors. It also offers another venue of police-community relations that are strengthened through activities that includes boxing.

Funds from the award will be directed toward the K-PAL program that includes boxing and hosting other activities out of the new location that offer role model atmosphere for youth who are interested in interactive sports.

The Kauai Police Activities League is a nonprofit organization coordinated by the Kauai Police Department and offering various islandwide programs to approximately 1,000 youth ages 5 to 18 years old. Its goal is to encourage good behavior, a healthy lifestyle, deter youth from illegal drugs and crime, and help them reach their full potential.

Enterprise Holdings Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Rent-A-Car that through its integrated network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands on Kauai.
