Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo to Father Arlan Intal, Lillian Vierra, Marina Pascua, Shelley Gerardo, and all the St. Raphaels Church ohana on a great Joy of Christmas experience (hurry, only two more weekends left to take it in!) at the oldest Catholic church on Kauai … its amazing how history can become so beautiful.

And mahalo for the hospitality (scored some Roast Pork, Beef Stew — yes, they had corn chowder, too — and more!) to keep the stomach happy … food definitely helps … the Mahelona Hospital culinary got involved for this year’s hospital courtyard lighting festivities (kudos to Josie Pablo and her many, many hands on another great event!) where Arnold Leong had some lilikoi flavored cotton candy, and the Golden Curry flying saucers (mahalo, Janice Akiyama — Ron Wood of FM97 knew where the good spot for eating was — for the package of goodies) that he introduced at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School craft fair a few weeks ago.
Mary Lardizabal and the Kapaa Middle School Choir and Ukulele band (they dried out from that Saturday soaking at the Kauai Christmas parade) had only a sampling of their concert that starts at 6:30 p.m. in the KMS courtyard — it’s not supposed to rain — and Santa had a following of little squealing fans (Carrice Gardner said her daughter promised not to cry when she meets Santa, this year), and Angelo Catiggay of the Philippine Island Hawaiian Island bicycle club said he had to leave early to work on the float for the Lights on Rice holiday parade — that’s coming up Friday in Lihue!
