LIHUE — The public got the opportunity to meet the Kapaa High School Homecoming court Friday night during halftime activities at the Kauai Interscholastic Federation football game against Waimea High at Vidinha Stadium.
Naia Burkart, debuting with the Kapaa High School girls volleyball team during the Tuesday night encounter against the Menehune at the Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapaa, reigned as the Warrior Homecoming Queen, escorted by Homecoming King Keahiahi Holden and Nainoa Cardinez as the Kapaa High School Marching Band, under the direction of Catherine Paleka-Zarzow, added to the excitement of the Hokuala Golf Club decorated golf carts — all taking place during halftime.
Talia Washington and her escort AJ Glovasa carried the Ms. Warrior banner. Naomi Noguchi is Ms. Touchdown, escorted by Chasen Tumamao. Sienna Hernandez-Martinez is Ms. Victory, escorted by Denzel Viernes, and Kobi Taylor is Ms. Spirit, escorted by Kyler Arruda-Sukehir.
Class representatives include Jaylee Souza-Yin and Connor Kitamura, representing the Class of 2023; Hi‘ilei Kamalani and Vincent Noguchi representing the Class of 2022; Dina Hayes and Sage Martin-Oldfield announcing the Class of 2021; and Daileen Barton and Sage Ikehara-Ragasa representing the Class of 2020.
According to the KIF schedule, Kauai High School will celebrate its Homecoming Friday when the Red Raiders host the Waimea Menehune at Vidinha Stadium.
