Nearly 2,000 people, including patrons and volunteers, converged at Smith’s Tropical Paradise in Wailua Sunday for the Rotary Club of Kauai’s 30th Taste of Hawaii.

Patrons were treated to an extravagant brunch from nearly 50 food-and-beverage vendors, and 17 bands performed.

Patrons were able to vote on their favorite food offerings and musical ensembles at the gathering designed to offer patrons a fine afternoon while raising funds for the Rotary Club of Kapaa and its numerous service projects that better the community.

Ron Wiley, the event emcee, was surprised and honored for his community work by being named an honorary member of the club by Jakki Nelson and Ron Lemay during one of the musical group introductions.
