LIHUE — Local youth sports club Team Lihue Basketball will host a fundraiser March 2 at The Ocean Course at Hokuala.
Proceeds will go toward the club’s efforts to send its team to the HyLife Spring Jam tournament in Hilo during the spring.
“We’ve been wanting to bring the boys up for the past two years, but we’ve never been able to make it happen,” said coach Max Manera. “So, we’re looking to bring up two teams this time around.”
The club plans on sending two teams, 25 players total, to Hilo. Estimated cost is $750-$900 per player.
The golf tournament will be a two-person team modified scramble. The entry fee is $125 per player or $250 per team. Fee covers cart and green fees. Mulligans will be available to purchase.
Shotgun start is scheduled for 8 a.m. Registration will be at 7 the morning of the event.
The club is accepting cash donations, tee sponsors and in-kind donations. Business can sponsor a team to play.
Team Lihue Basketball has been active since 2010 and caters to youth in grades fifth through eighth.
