Bat Mania at the Bat Cave by the agency on elderly affairs was the top adult choice and the top people’s choice during the county’s pumpkin carving contest. Daddy Shark by Kekepuloa Thompon of the Kauai Police Dept. was the top choice in the Child category of the county’s pumpkin carving contest. Eyes on you by Liliana Aquias was the runner up.

Reminder that the HMSA (Lili Conant and her crew sponsored the Kauai United Way walk a thon, too!) baked goods, and sale benefiting the Kauai United Way takes place from 8:15 a.m. and goes until supplies run out … check them out before heading to Wilcox Health where Faith Campbell and the Wilcox ‘ohana hosts its annual Halloween keiki parade (Dr. Carl Yu was previewing at the Spaghetti in the Pumpkin Patch!) for youngsters 4 years old and younger.

Stacie Chiba-Miguel is doing her Halloween activities at the Kauai Culinary Market from 3:30 p.m., and after all that, all that surplus Halloween candy can go to troops overseas by visiting the Candy Buyback at the Kalaheo Dental, Thursday afternoon from 2 p.m.

And the pumpkin has gone, yet … Saturday is the annual Veterans Day parade … this year, it’s in Kapaa (does that mean the Kauai Independent Daycare Service school will bring back it popular craft fair fundraiser, too?) … go early, get a parking space and visit the Kubota family at Pono Market for breakfast.

Happy Halloween!
